Important 1920's Art Deco vase and matching fruit stand in oxblood glazed ceramic with contrasting white "coral" glaze. Paul Milet (1870-1950) was the son of French ceramicist Felix Optat Milet (1838-1911). After training with his father at Sevres Porcelain Manufacturers, the pair founded their own company. At about twenty years of age, Paul Milet took up reigns of the business from his father and began signing his work “PM Sevres”. At the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900, Paul Milet won a gold medal for his work and particularly highly praised for his richly coloured glazes. These pieces are exceptionally well preserved.They are both signed at the base "P.M. Sevres".
